Those of you who attended the #LBFIG AGM on 17 March 2026, will know that after 6 years of being the LBFIG Chair, Chris Keesing has stood down from the position. During that event, the Executive Committee and members voted in a new chair and we would like to welcome Shelley O. Osbourne, as the new LBFIG Chair.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Chris, who during his time in post, provided superb leadership to the group and developed #LBFIG into the fantastic organisation it has become today, which is a legacy that we are sure that Shelley will continue to foster. Although he has stood down as Chair, Chris remains a member of the LBFIG Executive Committee.
Post appointment Shelley said “I’m excited to be elected as the new Chair of LBFIG. I have been working in Local Government Fraud Teams for 12 years and I’m currently working as a Fraud Prevention Officer at the Counter Fraud Shared Service, Lambeth and Croydon Council. I joined the Executive Committee in 2024 and have witnessed the power of collaboration in tackling fraud across the capital.
Please feel free to reach out, connect, or share your ideas — I’m always keen to hear from colleagues across London. I’m really looking forward to working with you all.”
